<Simmered food seasoning> Braised pork

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • Pork Belly Block 400g
  • 15ml mirin
  • Simmered food seasoning 60ml
  • 500ml water
  • 1 tablespoon salad oil

How to make it

STEP 1 Cut the pork into 2cm pieces. Heat oil in a frying pan and add the pork. Cook until the surface changes colour to remove the oil. Place on a colander and pour plenty of boiling water over it to remove the oil.

STEP2Pour water into a pot, add the pork and turn the heat to a boil. Once it boils, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 2-3 minutes while skimming off the scum. Add the mirin and simmering seasonings, then once it boils again, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes.

STEP 3 When the broth is almost gone, turn the heat to high and cook until golden while stirring.
